“Mood” is a fantastic word used to refer to:

  • an emotional state of mind or feeling
  • a receptive state of mind predisposing to action
  • a distinctive atmosphere or context.

And so, getting into the right mood means: “being in the situation” understanding the atmosphere, the spirit, and sharing it.

it is quite easy to get into the mood that Salerno’s strategic position can offer.

With trains and ferries, every hour, every day, we recommend dividing the daily experience into 3 complementary moments:

  • spend the whole day discovering one of the wonders of the region,
  • return to the B&B at the end of the afternoon for a shower and a short break,
  • and then go out again for dinner in the historic center.

It’s possible do everything comfortably on foot (obviously with the help of ferries and trains) thanks to the strategic position of the B&B (the port and station are close to the Ritratto: 5 minutes walking) and, at the same time, thanks to the fact that the day here is very long: in the city, the shops take a real “siesta”, that is, they close from 1pm to 5pm, and then reopen, and remain in business, until 8:30pm. Consequently, it is from that moment, that the dinner time begins. This allows you to never be in a hurry and make the most of the entire day; for example: it is much better (in fact we recommend it) to always return with the last available ferry from the coast, or to visit Paestum or the Royal Palace of Caserta in the afternoon, when it is less hot.

Dining in the historic center, in addition to guaranteeing a fantastic quality-price ratio compared to the places visited during the day, also allows you to relax, eating a few minutes’ walk from the B&B. This also offers, to those who want it, the possibility to avoid going to bed too late: in fact, it is necessary to rest and take new energy to be able to face a new day in which to discover other wonders that the region has to offer (Campania, in fact, is the region in Italy with the most UNESCO awards).
