How to use the time on the Amalfi coast

IMG_7843-01

As explained on the previous page, from the port of Salerno (located in Concordia Square, at 5 minutes from the B&B), it is possible to visit, by ferry, all the most beautiful places of this enchanting coast and precisely (and in order of distance from Salerno):

  • Marina di Vietri
  • Cetara
  • Maiori
  • Minori
  • Amalfi (and consequently also: Ravello, reachable through a shuttle bus from Amalfi)
  • Positano.

The most beautiful place of the Amalfi coast (the one not to be missed) is Ravello, reachable through a shuttle bus from Amalfi, after taking the direct ferry Salerno – Amalfi.

To visit Ravello, the traveler needs at least 4-5 hours, and this means that the first day on the Amalfi coast is dedicated for having a visit of Ravello, Amalfi and Atrani (Ravello in the morning and Amalfi and Atrani in the afternoon).

On a second day on the coast, it is possible to visit Positano (direct ferry Salerno – Positano), and, returning from Positano, to make a stop in Minori or Cetara, the small pearls of the coast, the less touristy and quieter ones.

In fact, we do not recommend visiting Ravello, Amalfi and Positano on the same day, but, first of all, we do not recommend skipping Ravello.

Normally our guests calculate:

  • minimum 3 nights only for the coast, to have the time also to visit Vietri (very famous for the ceramics) and to have a relaxing afternoon in Cetara,
  • other 2 nights to go to Pompeii and Paestum, which are also truly exceptional,
  • and another 2 nights for special excursions like Capri and Furore.
